Oslättfors Bruk is one of the finest preserved ironwork environments in this area, which was once the thriving heart of this industry and was known as the Iron Empire. The works is not far from Gävle, but is set in rich forest. An ironworks was founded here in the late seventeenth century, producing forged products and nails until the nineteenth. You can see a forge, mill, and main street along with other buildings. The works office is preserved and there is a small office museum.
