The Valley Lanes opened in 1962, over 44 years ago, and local leagues quickly formed from local textile plants to many business sponsored teams. Top bowlers were awarded trophies and fun and 'the place" to be was at the bowling lanes. Twenty-four AMF lanes, a snack bar, and even baby sitting were offered for children of the bowlers. The business was purchased in June of 2005 by local brothers James and Harry Caldwell. Their goal was to have a safer and more entertaining environment for Valleyans and visitors who enjoy bowling or a game of billiards. Valley Bowl offers moonlight bowling with black lights, fog machines, and DJ music. League and individual bowling, also churches, clubs, and schools are offered fund raising events by the owners. The Snack Bar has become famous for their 'cheeseburgers' and combo specials. Lunch at Valley Bowl is a favorite and evenings find families enjoying a 'meal together'. Open 10:00 AM EST until closing, around 10:00 PM, except for Moonlight Bowling Friday Nights 9-12 PM EST; Saturday Nights 7-10, 8-11, 9-Midnight EST. Valley Bowl is also Smoke Free!
