This Mandir was established by H.D.G. Swami Shri Haripriya Sharan Devacharya in the 1890's. He was one of the most learned scholars of the Nimbarka Sampradaya, who had memorised the entire Shrimad Bhagavatam (18,000 verses). After him, Swami Shri Dampatti Sharan (Thakur Das Ji) followed, who in turn was succeeded by Swami Shri Krishna Sharan Devacharya, after whose untimely death HDG Swami Shri Lalita Sharan Devacharya Ji followed as the head of this Mandir. 'Dada guru ji' as he is fondly known, passed into the heavenly realms in 2005 at the age of 104 years. Currently, the Mahant of the Mandir is Swami Krishna Sharan. Swami Gopal Sharan Devacharya Ji Maharaj was the dearmost disciple of "Dada Guru Ji" who set up Golok Dham Ashram in Vrindavan and in New Delhi.

The Land and administration of the Shri Bihaari Ji Ki Bageechi is dealt with by the renowned Beriwala family. Shri Hargulal Ji Beriwala was a stalwart devotee of Shri Shri Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj. In addition to building the mandirs of Barsana and Nandagaon, he donated land and very valuable objects to Bihari Ji. This Bihari Ji Ki Bageechi is the gardens that he donated to Bihari Ji - from which flowers and tulsi, vegetables etc are used for offering to Banke Bihari Ji. The tradition continues till today.
