Tandem trailers are a method of logistics transport in which two trailers are hauled by one truck. In the State of Florida, tandem trailers are only permitted on limited-access roadways, and are not permitted by law on surface-level streets. This paved area allows trucks to temporarily disconnect one of the trailers from the rig, so that a pick-up or delivery can be made while traveling upon the surface-level streets.
