The Silliman University Medical Center (SUMC) is a modern building located a few meters away from the Silliman campus and along Laguna Street. Considered as one of the most modern hospitals outside Manila and Cebu, this four-story building was inaugurated on August 28, 1976 during the Silliman Diamond Jubilee. It boasts a one-story garage and maintenance building, and one-story food services and laundry building equipped with elevator services. The SUMC was made possible by the generous gift of $930,000 from the people of Netherlands in the USA through the inter-Church Coordinating Committee for Development Project and the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia and $170,000 from Silliman University and other sources. The total cost of the building amounted to P 9,000,000.
