Wyckoff-Bennett House (New York City, New York)

USA / New York / New York City, New York

Wyckoff-Bennett House, c.1766, first owned by Henry and Abraham Wyckoff and Family from 1776 to 1835. The 100-acre+ homestead sold to Cornelius W. Bennett, whose family and descendants owned it from 1835 to 1983. The Mont family has owned it since 1983. Originally the house faced south but around 1900 was moved to its present position. For many years, this remained the last privately owned Dutch Colonial house in New York City. It is currently being purchased by the city from Annette and Stuart Mont who will remain. The homestead will be called the Wyckoff-Bennett-Mont House park.
