Berdak (Armenian: Բէրդակ, meaning: Fortress) or Pertek (Turkish transcription of name Berdak) is District Capital in Tunceli Province of today's Turkey. Founded in I century A.D. as Armenian fortress Berdak in Tsopk Shahuni gavar (district) of Tzopk ashkharh (province) of Armenian kingdom. Old fortress now preserved in the island in Keban reservoir opposite to today's Pertek city. Before the Armenian genocide (1915-23) Berdak was Armenian populated city in Kharberd (Mamuret-Ul-Aziz) province of Ottoman Empire in West Armenia. After the 1920 Berdak was renamed to Pertek.
