Holy Trinity church
A mosaic icon over the door depicts the Old Orthodox Trinity, almost a copy of the famous Holy Trinity by great Russian medieval artist, Rev.Andrey Rublyov of Radonezh ; and Rublyov, in his turn, carefully followed the Byzantinian tradition in painting this icon. Here is a good, consize article on the Old Orthodox Trinity (in Russian) - library.narod.ru/saga/osnova307.htm
Originally based on the Old Testament story of three angels visiting Abraham and Sarrah and, for the latters' hospitality, blessing the aged childless coouple with promise of a child, the icon in multiple reproductions became a symbol of the Holy Trinity itself, an allegoric depiction of perhaps one of the most dazzling and important Christian dogmats of the the triune God, three in one unitedly - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit being One God. This is certainly not the place for a thorough explanation; just bear in mind that this icon illustrates one of the most important Christian dogmats, that it is made after a highly revered Orthodox (Byzantian and then, Greek and Serbian Russian and Bulgarian, and etc.) tradition. In fact, this is an attempt to depict, not literally but allegorically, spiritually, the mysterious nature of the Triune God.

Much of the architecture in the Old Town is of Venetian origin.
