Kappe's former personnal home, which has been designated Historic-Cultural Monument No. 886 by the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission.

Kappe returned to his one-time abode in 2003, to approve some remodeling by the (then new) owner, including two fire places and a roof-top deck.
