North Charleston is a suburban city in the metropolitan area of Charleston, South Carolina. As of 2009 estimates, the city had a total population of 97,601. Named after the city of Charleston. Originally a tract of plantations, the site of phosphate mining after the Civil War. Much of the area was purchased by a development corporation in 1912 and developed as an industrial city. Incorporated as a city in 1972.

  • North Charleston is pretty mid-sized and the only real area of interest is in the downtown area of Charleston. Nothin too far from ordinary urban living, old historic areas cover the entire Charleston area for tourist and natives alike.
