This chapel is part of the Holy Family Catholic Carmelite Monastery where Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross spent her last days before being arrested by the Nazi Gestapo and taken to Auschwitz 2 (Birkenau) concentration camp where she was gassed. She was born a Jew and had converted to Catholicism.
