Q1 (Queensland Number One) is a supertall condominium building in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. Its roof height is 275 m (902 ft) whilst the height to its spire is 323 m (1,058 ft). Developed by the Sunland Group and designed by Atelier SDG, it was constructed from 2002 to 2005 at a cost of $255,000,000. Q1 is the tallest building in the Gold Coast and Australia. It has 78 floors and 2 basement floors and is equipped with 10 elevators. Its floor area is 209,100 sq m (2,250,700 sq ft).

Q1 has 527 units, a beach club, two swimming pools, a spa, and five conference rooms. There is also an observation deck named SkyPoint on floors 77 and 78.

    Melbourne's Eureka Tower looks cheap and nasty compared to Q1... If I had anything to do with the Eureka Tower I certainly wouldn't be in a hurry for the two to be compared, lol.

    Q1 is the world's tallest all-residential building in the world...is also tallest building in Australia..(yes, higher than the Eureka, the antenna counts)....very nice looking building that dominates the surfers paradise skyline.

    You're right Jay. According to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Q1 retains the record as the Worlds Tallest Residential Tower. A number of buildings currently under construction in Dubai will exceed the height of Q1 however only one at this point will be in the class of Residential-only. The catagory "Highest skyscrapers by architectural detail" ranks Q1 as # 25 in the world.
