Built in 1929, this building was designed in the Classical style by Allison & Allison for the Janss Corporation, creators of Westwood Village, to use as their offices. It occupies the focal point of the Village. The building's dome is a visual highlight, which distinguished it from its surroundings. Declared L.A. Historic Cultural Monument #364 on 6/21/1988. Previously housed Bank of America, a clothing store, a restaurant named Eurochow, and a restaurant named Yamato.

  • 8.6.07 Eurochow is dead! It died a year ago on May 15, 2006. Long live the The Westwood Building!
  • The Janss family later traded most of Westwood Village for Sun Valley, Idaho, with some brightly-colored baubles thrown in. The Janss Corporation was active in developing over 10,000 acres of prime land in Southern California, but went out of business in the early 1980's.
