AKA "Rape Trail"

This set of steps runs from Saxon Suites down to Gayley Ave. across from Landfair Ave. It offers a shortcut for pedestrians coming from the Hill to the apartments, shortening walking time and distance. It has become commonly known to UCLA students as "Rape Trail" due to its low-lighting and path along somewhat heavy shubbery, alluding to prime conditions for a rapist to lurk. There have in fact been no rapes committed on this trail.

Saxon Steps has been host to many a drunken stumble and is perhaps most used during UCLA's undie-run. Spring Quarter 2006 seemed to max out the Steps capacity, having students fill the street and continue to fill the steps all the way back up to the Suites.
