Built in 1867, the weigh-bridge toll collector's house is a stone Gothic building with a lancet window at each end. This was the site of Leicester's last Haymarket. The weigh-bridge base plate is 30x8 feet and has a capacity of 25 tons. The fully loaded dray would be weighed, unloaded and reweighed thereby giving the weight of the load. Taken out of commission in 1965 the house is now used as the office for a taxi firm.
