  • From its humble beginnings at Biyagama in a 60,000 square foot factory, Stretchline, Sri Lanka’s leading elastic manufacturer, has grown to global proportions with over half a million square feet of facilities worldwide. Looking back at the decade that has passed, Stretchline’s track record has been very impressive. Just three years after commencement of operations, owing to rapid expansion, a second unit is built in Sri Lanka. In years that followed, Stretchline is invited to invest overseas, making it the first local fabrics company to branch internationally. Firstly penetrating the ASEAN market, Stretchline sets up facilities in Indonesia and China. With the introduction of the North American Free Trade Agreement, the Company then ventures to Mexico to service the intimate apparel giant Victoria's Secret and other American producers in the region. The year 2003 sees Stretchline acquiring a stake in Delta Elastics of Israel in a bid to improve its flexibility and speed. In the preceding years, Sales and Marketing offices are opened in the UK, US and Hong Kong to provide customer service, design and technological innovation to its customer’s design houses. Owing to the high skill and knowledge of the staff, Stretchline opens a Research & Development centre in Sri Lanka to carry out all innovations for its global operations. Recognized by the National Chamber of Exporters as the “Best Overall Exporter in Sri Lanka”, Stretchline has now ventured into ancillary products, namely the manufacture and sale of elastomeric yarns.
