Roosevelt Field Mall is a large, upscale, suburban shopping mall, located in East Garden City, New York, on Long Island. It has over 260 specialty stores and four anchors: Bloomingdale's, J.C. Penney, Macy's, and Nordstrom.

The mall was originally designed by I.M. Pei but none of the plan remains. Macy's was designed by Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill.

  • It was the takeoff point for many flights that were important in the history of aviation. Charles Lindbergh's 1927 solo transatlantic flight originated at Roosevelt Field. It was also used by other pioneering aviators, including Amelia Earhart and Wiley Post. At its peak in the 1930s, it was America’s busiest civilian airfield,
  • The RF mall isnt the exact former location of the airfield. The Source Mall is the real more exact location.
  • The entire area was one large airbase at one point from what i've heard, so it doesn't make much of a diffrence.
  • IT'S ALSO NOT AS UPSCALE AS IT ONCE WAS
  • The airfield site know as "Unit 2", which would become the location of Roosevelt Raceway, was the airfield known as Roosevelt Field. That was where Lindbergh's flight left for France. Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis's wheels just cleared power lines along Merrick Ave. That's nearly 1/2 mile east of shopping mall.
