Haykaberd (in Armenian: Հայկաբերդ, means "Hayk Fortress" after the Hayk Nahapet - founder of Armenain nation). Founded in iXth century B.C. in Araratian kingdom also known as Urartu. Older name is unknown. After the Armenian genocide this historical cite was renamed to Çavuştepe by Turks under the Turkish State sponsored program of turkification of all Armenian toponymes of Western Armenia that after the genocide got new name East Anatolia to hide its Armenian origin and thus help to Turkey to avoid responsibility for Armenian genocide, as since the reign of Kemal Ataturk, Turkey denied its past and follow to absurd slogan "There was no Armenia and Armenians in the territory of Turkey, that was owned Anatolia since the times immemorial"
