Old Roman / Bycantine Fort, built to protect the transport route from Mons Porphyritis to the Nile Valley via the Atrash Valley and for logistical support of the transport. Still good to detect is the fort with four towers at each corne and a deep well and the large stables adjacent to the fort in the east. Also to be seen are several blocks of Porphyris Imperialis that remained here half the way to the Nile. Obviously they where left behind when the Bycantine Emperors stopped ordering the nice rocks.
