Window Rock is home to the famous 47-foot hole, chiseled by the wind in red sandstone, from which the capital of the Navajo Nation received its name. Visitors to this free park can enjoy a short hike through the beautiful red rocks. Guests can also stop at the Code Talkers' monument to celebrate the famous Navajo men who helped ensure the Allied victory during World War II by communicating vital messages using a code based upon the Navajo language.
