Spaghetti Warehouse (Toledo, Ohio) | restaurant, Italian cuisine

USA / Ohio / Toledo / Toledo, Ohio / S. Superior Street, 42
 restaurant, Italian cuisine

The popular family restaurant serves spaghetti, pasta and other Italian fare in an old warehouse building complete with red and white checkered table cloths, tiffany lamps, old gas pumps and an authentic trolley car. It is part of the Spaghetti Warehouse chain of 20 restaurants in 13 states established in 1972.

Designed by Toledo architect Bernhard Becker, for the Hoppe & Strub Bottling Company, the 1894 structure features four broad arches along Superior Street. These were used to permit easy access to the building by teams of draft horses and wagons that carried beer and bottled beverages. During its lifetime the building also served as a candy and showcase company office and a moving and storage facility before becoming the Spaghetti Warehouse restaurant in 1982.
