Interstate 70 runs for over 2200 miles from Cove Fort, UT to a park and ride lot east of I-695 in Baltimore, MD. The first interstate constructed was of I-70 in Missouri. In Breezewood, PA, there are traffic lights on I-70.

I-70 starts at I-15 near Cove Fort, UT, then treks east in Colorado and Kansas, through St. Louis, MO and through southern Pennsylvania. It ends at a park and ride lot in Baltimore, MD. It was supposed to continue to I-90, but strong neighborhood opposition stopped it.

US Highway 50 runs 3073 miles from West Sacramento, CA to Ocean City, MD. It goes through Ely, NV, then Colorado and Nebraska and across southern Ohio. It ends at Baltimore Avenue in Ocean City, MD.

From Salina, Utah to Grand Junction, Colorado much of I-70 is open to bicycle traffic except where viable sections of the old HWY 50 route are available. 30 some miles East of Grand Junction east-bound bicycles to Denver follow I-70 frontage roads except for a small section just west of Denver.
