vulytsia Mezhyhirska (Kyiv)
Street Mezhigorskaya known since the XVIII century. Its name is derived from Mezhyhirya Monastery - located in Podil buildings belonging to the monastery. In the early twentieth century, it was renamed in honor of the Jewish writer Yitzchak Peretz, who created their works in Yiddish. We returned to the historical name of the street only in 1944. At the beginning of Mezhyhirska it is one of the most famous buildings of Podol - Contract house where merchants carried out large trades.
