National Highway 48 (New)


The former NH 8 and NH-4 have been together renumbered as NH 48 and now NH 48 runs from Delhi to Chennai.
The highway passes through some of the most important cities in the country and joins the capital city with Gurgaon, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Udaipur, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Belagavi, Hubbali,
NH 48 (Delhi-Chennai)
Devanagere, Tumakuru, Bengaluru, Vellore and finally terminating in Chennai.

Earlier, the stretch between Delhi and Mumbai was known as NH-8 whereas the stretch between Mumbai and Chennai was referred to as NH-4 before all the national highways were officially renumbered in the year 2010.
