U.S. Route 29 (Georgia Avenue Northwest) (Washington, D.C.)
U.S. Route 29 is a north-south U.S. numbered highway on the east coast of the United States. It runs from Pensacola, Florida to Ellicott City, Maryland, west of Baltimore. It enters Washington, D.C. on the Francis Scott Key Bridge between Arlington, Virginia and Georgetown. It joins the Whitehurst Freeway and passes under Washington Circle in Foggy Bottom, then follows surface streets to Silver Spring, Maryland. In north D.C. it follows Georgia Avenue and passes by Howard University and Walter Reed Medical Center.
