U.S. Route 50 (Constitution Avenue Northwest) (Washington, D.C.)

U.S. Route 50 is a transcontinental east-west U.S. numbered highway. It runs from Sacramento, California to Ocean City, Maryland, passing through 12 states. In Washington, D.C. it runs from Arlington, Virginia near Rosslyn over the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge, to the Anacostia River west of Cheverly, Maryland on New York Avenue. The route predominantly follows surface streets, but becomes a freeway approaching Maryland, and joins Interstate 66 to enter Virginia. The route includes the majority of the length of the National Mall along Constitution Avenue.
