US 85 is cosigned with I-25 from its beginning at Las Cruces, NM to Castle Rock, CO (south of Denver). US 87 is cosigned with I-25 from Raton, NM to its other end at Buffalo, WY (except through Colorado Springs). Interstate 25 begins from I-10 in Las Cruces, NM. It heads north through Albuquerque and Santa Fe. There's a short section east of Santa Fe where northbound traffic is actually going southeast. I-25 goes through Colorado Springs and downtown Denver before entering Wyoming. It passing through Cheyenne and Casper before ending at I-90 in Buffalo, WY.

US Highway 85 runs from Mexico to Canada. It starts in El Paso, TX at the border with Mexico and is unsigned in New Mexico and most of Colorado. It passes through Cheyenne, WY and Deadwood, SD (US 385 starts here). US 85 then continues north through North Dakota to Fortuna, ND (Canada border).
