Padre Burgos Avenue (N150 / N170 / C-1)

Abbreviation: P. Burgos Ave. / P. Burgos St.

Padre Burgos Avenue, also known as Padre Burgos Street, is a 14-lane important thoroughfare in Manila named after one of the Gomburza, Jose Burgos. It is a road in the center of Manila, providing access to several important roads in Manila like the Taft Avenue, Rizal Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, and Quezon Boulevard, designated as a part of the Pan-Philippine Highway, Circumferential Road 1 and Radial Road 7. The Manila City Hall can be accessed using this road, and so is the Rizal Park and the Intramuros. The road starts from the banks of the Pasig River, where the MacArthur Bridge (leading to the Rizal Avenue), the Jonas Bridge, and the Quezon Bridge merge. MacArthur Bridge becomes Rizal Avenue, which leads to Caloocan. The Quezon Bridge leads to Quiapo, the University of Santo Tomas, the Far Eastern University, to the Espana Boulevard and to Quezon City. Padre Burgos continues south and it will branch to 2, the Taft Avenue and the Padre Burgos Extension when it reaches the Rizal Park. The Taft Avenue leads to Ermita, Malate, and Pasay. Padre Burgos will then turn sharply left, intersecting the Finance Drive, the Major thoroughfare of the Rizal Park which leads to Ayala Boulevard and Mendiola, the other parts of the Circumferential Road 1. Padre Burgos Street ends with a junction with the Roxas Boulevard.
