McEwan Avenue (Windsor, Ontario)

Named after John McEwan, an American from Saratoga, New York, later married Margaret Arnold (granddaughter of Benedict Arnold). They moved to Windsor in 1848. John became a Clerk of the Court in 1849 until 1853, became Sherrif of Essex County in 1856 to 1883. John also started (and edited) the first newspaper in Windsor, the Windsor Herald, in 1855.
