Maybe, the place isn't very interesting, but the big plane appeared on the sat image...
Seems that the plane landed right on the street...

Yes, not often. I saw not more 5-7. But as usual, they are very small on the photo.
I didn't see such big [b:1p8kx9z6]flying[/b:1p8kx9z6] plane before.

[size=85:1p8kx9z6](I added photo because after sat update we can lose some interesting objects, as it was already)[/size:1p8kx9z6]

Memorial to Mountaineering group: old.wikimapia.org/#lat=-9.069390 ... =0&m=b&v=8

Thrilling but scarey tales of YesterYear. Sort of like the big granite bolder carved into the shape of a snowplow on Red Mountain Pass in the USA as a memorial to all the people killed keeping the high mountain roads open.

I am making a project of marking the long Appalachian hiking trail that runs between Georgia and Maine some ~3,000 kilometers. As trees cover most of this foot path I search for landmarks along the path and add the category Appalachian to them, If you put the Eastern USA on-screen and search for Appalachian you will see the beginnings of a line of marks from Springer Mountain Georgia to Mt. Katahdin in Maine. Guests to Wikimapia can now quickly locate the nearest trail access this way.

Good idea. I changed the category name to [Appalachian trail] and gave it a description.
btw Ken, there are a few tags just N of NYC that appear to be "off the line". I'm not sure if these are actually associated with the trail. Could you check?

Great Ken, but can you at least put more than just the "route number" in the road name when you name it

Well I think as long as the track is 400 meters regulation size, I don't think there is a problem......I'd have to confirm that though...I mean I have seen tracks that are more like elongated ovals before at schools with sharper turns...
