[b:1147rcb3]1. Before requesting deletion, please make sure the tag(s) meet the deletion criteria in section 3 of the Wikimapia Guidelines located [url=http://wikimapia.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=14231#p271462:1147rcb3]here[/url:1147rcb3].
2. When posting links to tags, make sure the link belongs to an opened tag. Avoid posting links to unopened tags as this may confuse the deleter in finding the correct tag to delete.
3. If posting a bulk list of deletion requests, please post the links in small groups separated by a line space. This will help the deleter check & delete the places more efficiently. So, it is better to avoid posting links in one block.
4. If deletions requests have been fulfilled, please post a confirmation reply post (quoting the request post). This will assist us in purging completed request posts.[/b:1147rcb3]

The answer is - We have to delete illegal objects as we see it.

Because Wikimapia embrace the concept of 'Wiki'.

"its users" means users of this service, not anybody on the web. I understand the need to open access to everybody, but it could be just asked to have a registered account.. it's free and if people really want to add something they can register... this would prevent most of current vandalism I think..

Not all unregistered users are vandals.
And not all people like to register everywhere... (I do not like, for example.)
We must give them a chance to try this site. If the user wants to do more than is allowed, he will register.

No, of course you're right. But from what I've seen, most vandalism has been done by unregistered users (not necessarily on purpose, but just because they want to tag thei home for instance).
Concerning registering, i don't get the problem of registering.. you don't have to provide you real name, no one can see you email address... what's the problem ?
(and you have registered so.....)
Anyway, we won't change it.

Personally if the pedestrian crossings are tagged in the right place and for the road sign a good description to say what the sign is about I will not delete them. After all, we are supposed to tag what is there. I know some users won't agree to tagging such items, but this is no difference than tagging bus stops. At least the crossing or the road signs often can be seen more clearly than the bus stop from the map. |

If you switch map type to Wikimapia classic you will get rectangles that are easier to "grip" then small long lines.
I looked at it and I think it's not a river marked but the lines of 3-4 large polygons along the river.

| Although built-up/urbanized areas in India have addresses, there are are rural/remote areas where a property does not have a first line of address i.e. house name or number. In this instance, the locals use the name of the owner/resident as the official title of the house. |

Hi,
Yesterday I requested the deletion of these places because they are tags of buildings that no longer exist :

Do you think they should be deleted ?

User TIMCOM is a Clone of DILET who was the creator of those non-existent object 2 months ago and is currently on permanent vacation. Now, User TIMCOM got a permanent to accompany DILET.
