There are different narrations about the meaning of the word Umm Daqrsi.. The name belongs to a village located geographically in the locality of al-Kamilin.. It was known for spreading and memorizing the Holy Qur’an through students who flocked to it from all parts of Sudan.
Umm Daqrsi is a village that was embellished with a clear Arabic tongue.. Its master raises his call to prayer more than a century ago.. and the fire of its Quran has never been extinguished.. and its students carry the popular conscience by spreading authentic morals and values.
He tells that a woman was settling near the Blue Nile.. Shepherds used to come to water their sheep in that area.. The woman confronted them, along with her young son. “Daqr,” the shepherds said to her. Yam Um Dur Arsi!!!
Logic and reality.. He says that it is the correct narration, but for something in the minds of the people of Umm Daqrsi they say that the origin of the name is due to the fact that it is “Ars Ghars”, meaning a land famous for agriculture and general good.
Umm Daqrsi was famous for growing onions and melons, and now banana plantations are spreading there.

The most famous mosques are the Sheikh Mustafa Al-Hafyan Mosque, who died in 1934, and Al-Faki Younis and Dr. Hamdallah Mosque in 1936.. Umm Daqras is divided into two groups, Umm Daqras, east and west, and the social situation is interconnected among all the citizens of the village.
