Also known as Masjid al-Aqabah. Location where the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ received the oath of allegiance (or "bai'ah" in Arabic) from 12 leaders of two great Arabian tribes, the Al-Aws and Al-Khazraj from Yathrib, as Madinah was known at that time.

Originally built at the time of Abu Ja'far Al-Mansour, the second Abbasid Caliph. Renovated and extended by Al-Mustansir Billah in 1232 and also during the Mamluk and Ottoman periods.

The 500 square meter mosque is distinguished by its old building that has no roof, minarets or windows. It is built of stones and bricks and is usually closed except for during the Haj season.
