  • Wow! My Alma mater! It was named Bantayan Elementary School then. A lot has changed since I last set foot on it's grounds. Come to think of it, the last time I set foot in there was on my graduation day! Through the years I've seen it a couple times and up close too but I never stop to explore the inside. There was an old caretaker way back then when I studied there. If my memory serves me right his name was laki Oding or Odin, he was a fat balding guy with bulging stomach. He used to sharpen our broken pencils using his very sharp chisel! We also use to gather mangoes from the old mango trees in and near the school grounds. There was an old mango tree outside of the school where they used to spread stories like there was a PUGOT in there guarding the tree. Oh I had a lot of memories, some are very funny, some sad while some are... Oh never mind I don't even want to remember (:D :D :D). It was really a shame that I lost my old class picture. I wonder how many of my batchmates are still alive today! Some of them are pretty successful I guess, others who knows. Still a few were lost during my school days there. I remember a classmate of mine surnamed Buenaventura, hails from Pugo. He drowned in that deep hole by the Pugo bridge. Another friend of mine was named Andres, he was bitten by a snake and sadly died of it. I did lost a couple of friends then but never the less I still enjoyed my days spent in there. How I wish I could turn back the clock! I would've stayed in there forever. It is just unfortunate that I....... grew up!
