  The college was originally named University of Nahdlatul Ulama (UNNU) Surakarta which was inaugurated by Ir. Soekarno (the first President of Indonesia) on October 2, 1958, with majoring Kuliyatul opening Qodlo (Faculty of Islamic Law), then dated December 9, 1973 with the opening of the Faculty Tarbiyah Islamic Education Department. UNU is now in development by SK Surakarta. No. minister.: 180/D/0/2000 dated July 24, 2000 changed to the University of Nahdlatul Ulama (UNU) Surakarta to open 5 to 10 Faculty Program (Prodi)
