On March 3, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a number of resolutions on renaming settlements. In particular, the village of Krynychky, Zhytomyr district, is now called Buimyr. The issue of renaming the village of Krynychky was initiated by its residents in order to return the settlement to its historical name. It is noted that until the 1970s the village of Krynychky was called Buimyr.
