located in bangkok suburbs-zone4- Suvarnabhumi Airport is the largest world airport if you include land area with the tallest control tower. huge and bright with no interior ceiling support columns - roofs spanned by long beams and tension points anchored via outside joints. one gigantic, clean and unobstructed view of all inside check in terminals. airport air temperature controlled by chilled water pumped to floor cooling tiles and raised floor thermal fins. built using the sandwich layer idea - top floor is departures, bottom floor is arrivals with shops, cafes, medical area in the middle filling.a huge airport-takes 30 min to walk from immigration desk to gate C9 and i almost missed my flight to london TG916. yes, i almost had a heart attack walking so very far.travel times by road from central bangkok-allow 2++ hours during rush hour, 40min+ yes, forty minutes quick- from midnight to 6am only. DO NOT GAMBLE with bangkok traffic EVER! always take deep breaths. bkk airport is however only 1+ hour to pattaya as motorway link is direct.reasonable food prices-try the famous airport yellow chicken curry before you leave.-reviewed 03/09-by minburiairways
