Xinyang is a prefecture-level city in south-eastern Henan province, China. Situated in the south of Henan Province, Xinyang City is one of the birthplaces of the Chinese civilization. Among its beautiful mountains and waters, the Jigongshan Mountain, a scenic and historic area, ranks as one of the top four summer resorts nationwide. Nanwan Lake is widely reputed as a gem in the south of Henan Province. Located in the centre of Shihe District, it is the earliest flood control project of Huai River.
