Alto Pass is a village in Union County, Illinois, which had a population of 388 at the 2000 census.
At an elevation of 749', this was the highest point on the Gulf Mobile and Ohio Railroad. The GM&O was merged into the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad in 1972, and ICG abandoned this line in 1980.
