Originally the Beresford Hotel, it has been a I.C.I's headquarters in Scotland and lately a Strathclyde University hall of residence.

The Beresford was originally constructed as an art-deco hotel back in 1930s Glasgow with the rooms arranged around a central inner lightwell. This has now been converted by the architect into a proper courtyard functioning as amenity space for the residents.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy later President Kennedy 2nd son the Ambassador Joseph Kennedy visited the city of Glasgow to see US Citizens from sunken ship at Beresford Hotel on behalf of his father in 1940.
