Industrial monument recalling the days of winning salt by wind evaporation of brine by allowing it to trickle over stacks of Blackthorn twigs. Commercial operations ceased once rock salt mining became more economical in the 19C. Now used for curative purposes as an open-air inhalatorium as the air has the quality of a sea breeze.
