Playa de Los Lances Sur is a 2.65km long stretch of perfect white sand beach, forming part of the much longer stretch of beach that runs from Balnearios (the Tarifa town beach) to Bolonia. The beach has become world famous because it has the perfect conditions for kitesurfing. For over 300 days a year it has both sunshine and wind of Beaufort force 4 or more, but in summer kitesurfing is not allowed on the section of beach closest to the town so that the beach can be used for sunbathing and beach sports, and to keep the area safe for small children.
