Solidarity villages include Al-Atlab, Wad Kalyan, Al-Dhubab, Al-Fujaija, Al-Duwaimat, Al-Tandab, and Qandatu North. It is located 15 km south of the city of Shendi. It has two primary schools, a co-educational secondary school, and a hospital. Each village has a separate popular committee. It was recently connected to the city of Shendi by a paved road. It was also connected to the national electricity grid. It has the Qandatu agricultural project.
