Uguzzoni Tower (Bologna)

Italy / Emilia-Romagna / Bologna

Located inside the part of the city known historically as the Jewish Ghetto. Unlike the towers built between the 11th and 12th centuries, the Uguzzoni Tower has an ogival door at almost ground level that has been there since it was built. This tower, with two passageways along its flanks, represents one of the most characteristic corners of mediaeval Bologna. One of the passageways is adorned with a beautiful 15th century style window in terracotta.
