Originally constructed by the Japanese Seibu department store chain in 1962. That store quickly closed, and the building was, from 1965-1986, an Orbach's department store. The empty building was then used as a location for the 1988 film "Miracle Mile". Finally, in 1994, it was converted to an automotive museum.
