DUHRE village is situated about 4miles(6.6Km) from Adampur town(Air Force base) which situated on Jalandhar Hoshiarpur highway(NH-70) and about 13 Miles(20Km) from Jalandhar.The majority of people's surname is DUHRA. A canal from Adampur goes through village boundary.Village has a primary and a secondary school which used to call in my days Sikh National High School. It was a very successful school under the leadership of S. Raghbir Singh who was very committed headteacher and was an excellent Maths teacher. A large number of people from village were highly educated and settled all over India and abroad mainly UK, Canada,USA and Italy. I welcome any body to write positive comments about this village and people.

Founded around 300 years ago ( 17th century) by Duhaar; who had won this and the surrounding land from one of the Muslim Nobilities. The Muslim noble challenged anyone to fight and beat his son (pin him down) and who ever win's will be granted anything in his power.
After being victorious on the second day, after provoking the proud prince and besting him (even though it was not his turn); Duhaar was crowned champion and asked for land and Lordship (a title). He was granted both, Duhaar then gave half of the land and a little money he earned to his brother Doulu and together they formed the Two villages; Dolika-Duhre.

    This is also my PIND. My father Kewal s Duhra and family lived on the khoo, which is on the road from Duhre Pind to Mali Nagal. I grew up with Mintu, Rimple(late), Mangi and others. Its great to see Duhre Pind pop up when Duhra name is searched. Wish all Duhras write back. Sukh.

    I am Joginder Duhra s/o Kashmir Singh. We all pindus trying to make our village modernised by constructing modern sewerge system, underground drains,putting street lights,laying new streets as in Western countries, managing cow dungs prperly etc and lot of trees in and around the village and few more projects. Surjit Duhre Ex. excise commissionar came to Uk and we all collected lot of money for village.The govt. providing extra 75% on top of collections. I request all pind loving brothers to contribute to this excellent cause so that when we visit our village we all enjoy it. Once all done the govt. will provide many extra facilities.
