  Hawzen is located in the eastern part of Tigrai region, Ethiopia. It is the third most older city in Ethiopia next to Axum and Yeha. It has a pleasant weather condition at every season. Hawzen has got luxurious lodge named Gherealta lodge where you can view in 4D all the chained mountains of Gheralta. Tourist Hotel, Lalibela Hotel and Adulis Hotel are among the renowned guest houses for tourists and other Visitors. Hawzen is also known for its unique natural resources at nearby the town. many researches have shown that the surrounding around the town is found to have profound role for industry and trade movements as it is the center and connected to any other places in Ethiopia.Many of its dwellers are hardworking and respecting people. In june 1988, the former Ethiopian government typically know for its internal butcher, Mengestu Hailemariam, bombarded the town during a market day for innocent and civilian marketers and the elites of the region. it was know for its worst bombardment next to Heroshmania and Nagasika in Japan; many people died, lost their parents and property and still are not incurred from that embarrassment.
