The Sacramental Cemetery San Isidro is the oldest church in Madrid.

With the abbreviated name of "Sacramental de San Isidro", known to the cemetery of the Pontifical and Royal Confraternity Sacramental de San Pedro, San Andres, San Isidro and the Immaculate Conception. Such Confraternity was created as a result of the merger in 1587 of the Guilds of the parishes of St. Peter and Royal St. Andrew the Apostle in addition to the guilds of the Immaculate Conception and San Isidro Labrador.

Among his religious and humanitarian purposes was that of giving proper burial to his fellow deceased, so the Confraternity requested permission to open a cemetery outside Madrid and for that the site chosen was near the Ermita de San Isidro.
