This is the site of the original saw mill on which the town was founded. It laid vacant for a long time. The ruins of the saw mill used to be fun to play in as a kid, but then someone got hurt or something so they were bulldozed and filled in. There were some cool underground areas that were filled in. The only structure that remains is the smokestack. Kids would burn tires in it to make smoke come out the top. In the 1990s, it was decided to make it a park. The pond which was used to float logs was dredged out and turned into a lake. A trail was made around the lake basically expanding on an existing path. A boat launch was put in for small fishing boats, as the lake was stocked at some point as part of the school agriculture program. The lake is supplied by a creek to the north where there are some wetlands and drains through an interesting colvert system which can be seen in the southern part.
