This shows the approximate location of Nook Farm. John Hooker and Francis Gillette bought 100 acres in this area in 1851 and named the area for the "nook" that the Woods River (northern branch of the Park River) made into the land. This area was home to Samuel Clemens, Harriet Beecher Stowe along with many other influential people.
